Beautiful, scented drawer liners can create a yummy smelling little resting place for your oh-so-cherished garments.
I recently found these beautiful drawer liners at www.hammocksandhightea.com.
Even though they are uber-pretty, they are on the pricey side at $25 each, which got me thinking that it might be worth it to research making one’s own. And when I did, I realised that making your own drawer liners couldn’t be easier!
You will need the following easy to find items:
- A spray bottle
- A teabag
- Clove oil (the tannins in the teabag & the clove oil protect your clothes against mould and dust-mites)
- Your favourite essential oil(s)
- Some acid free paper
And these 5 simple steps:
- Cut your paper to size. Personally,I like it when my drawer liners fold up slightly on each side.
- Fill your spray bottle with warm water and allow your teabag to soak in it for 3 minutes.
- Add three drops of clove oil and 3-5 drops of a heavenly essential oil of your choosing (my favourite is vanilla tonka bean from The Body Shop) and then mix it up nicely.
- Now spray your sweet smelling potion onto the paper, bearing in mind of course, that if you spray too much on each sheet, the paper could loose it’s shape.
- Leave your sheets to dry (a warm sunny day and/or room will help to speed up the process)
And TADAAAAA! You now have your very own, home-made-with-love drawer liners.
