Working from home can be tricky, but it definitely has its upsides. I am definitely most productive when I am working in a space I take pride in. My work area should essentially be clean and neat, with good light and air circulation.
Other must-haves for my office include:

Pictures of family or friends in beautiful frames.

A pin board for inspirational pictures or quotes and paint & fabric samples.

A window with a view of my garden.
-
A door to your office could turn into an under-appreciated asset once you have small children.
-
And lastly, nothing makes me feel more at home than some fresh flowers!
